Andrew Maglathlin is a ceramics artist based out of Massachusetts, but currently commutes between Salve Regina University in Newport, RI and Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT as an adjunct faculty member teaching both an art appreciation curriculum and ceramics sculpture. Maglathlin received a Master of Fine Arts in ceramics from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in Illinois, a Post-Baccalaureate in ceramics from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and his Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. Although he is trained in the traditional discipline of ceramics, Maglathlin is influenced by the modern era of abstract art and is dedicated to experimenting with ceramics as a sculptural medium.
